Parenting in the Storm: Understanding Reactivity, Repair & Boundaries

  • 40 Steps

About

This course was created for parents in early recovery — or those seeking recovery — who want to better understand what’s happening inside them during conflict. Especially in parenting and co-parenting, moments can escalate quickly. Reactions can feel automatic, overwhelming, and difficult to make sense of afterward. This course helps explain why that happens — not as a personal failure, but as a natural response shaped by stress, past experiences, and the nervous system. Through a series of short videos, reflections, and simple tools, you’ll explore: • Why reacting makes sense • What happens when logic goes offline • How patterns, stories, and the body shape conflict • Why “pausing” isn’t about willpower, but capacity • What repair awareness looks like in real life • How boundaries can protect connection This course is not about fixing yourself or getting it right. It’s about building awareness, staying grounded when possible, and protecting your relationships one step at a time. You don’t need to move through it perfectly or in order. You can pause, come back, or take space whenever needed. This is not a replacement for in-person support or workshops. It is a starting point—a way to better understand yourself so that the support you access and the conversations you have can be more grounded and meaningful. If you’re here, it likely means you care about doing this differently. And that matters. *This course is not for organizational use or distribution.
